Wijeyadasa delays gazette on 22nd amendment

Colombo, July 18 - Ahead of the Presidential election, Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has directed Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms to withhold the publication of the Gazette notification concerning the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.

This decision, according to the minister, is aimed at averting uncertainty surrounding the upcoming Presidential Election.

The Cabinet recently approved the bill in relation to the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.

You have done the right thing because delving on the proposed 22nd Constitution at the threshold of an election would have ignited Public resentment and led the country to protests all over etc As the saying goes a 'A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE'!!!!!!!!!

Wijedasa Rajapakshe anyway lose the Presidential Election. Now he is scared about the General Election. Well, if 22nd Amendment is postponed, No one could dissolve the Parliament, WR does not want to lose his Ministerial position also. (greedy fellow for power and money)
