Colombo, July 29 (Daily Mirror) - Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has stepped down from his Ministerial portfolio.

He made this announcement during a media conference a short while ago.

Minister Rajapakshe said he resigned from the portfolio as he was contesting for the Presidency.

Whatever said and done, he is a courageous person who has some policies and as the Minister of justice he has done lot during his tenure. You cannot expect 100% good people in politics especially in a third world country. He must have slected to contest for presidency to become the leader of SLFP one day which will bring him more honour than servings as a minister. His resigning the post of Minister of justice is a loss for the country

He was good when he wasn't a minister. Soon as he became one he lost all his morals. He know he'll not be elected. Its Ranil just wants to break the votes to NPP. Cunning fox at it again.
