Wimalasurendra starts spilling

Due to heavy rain fall in the catchment areas of the central hills, the Wimalasurendra reservoir has started spilling since this morning, the Irrigation Department said.
They said heavy rainfall has been received on the western slopes of the central hills since last night (24).
Meanwhile, the water level in Castlereagh and Maussakele reservoirs is approaching spill level.
