A 39-year-old woman, her daughter and two other girls, aged 14, drowned while bathing in the Gin River at Hiniduma in Galle, this afternoon, police said.

There is a lot the goverment should be taken to task for, this is not one of them, it can only be down to the stupidity of the bathers. Cannot expect the goverment to fence in all rivers and the sea, even if they did people would jump them.
