Woman injured in shooting at Medawachchiya

Colombo, May 11 (Daily Mirror) - A 44-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was injured by gunshots in Medawachchiya last night.

Police said the victim was admitted to the Medawachchiya Hospital and later transferred to the Anuradhapura Hospital for further treatment.

The suspect, who had committed the shooting over a personal dispute, had fled the area. 

Police said a 12-bore firearm was used for the shooting. The Medawachchiya Police are conducting further investigations.
