Woman killed, four injured in accident

A 58-year-old woman was killed and four others injured in a collision of a bus, three-wheeler and a motorcycle at Wellabada in Ahungalla last night, Police said.

They said the three-wheeler travelling towards Colombo from Galle had collided head-on with a bus and a motorcycle that was travelling behind the three-wheeler had crashed onto it.

Four people including the three-wheeler driver and the motorcyclist were admitted to the Balapitiya Base Hospital.

The bus driver was arrested in connection with the accident.

Mr Minister don't bow down to Gemunu or the bus associations or any one just impose the agreed fines. Gemunu or others shouting have not spent sometime checking how the buses three-wheedlers and motorcyclists use the road

Here we go again. All the three culprits in one. Guys don't blame only the bus folks . The three wheelers and the motor bikes are equally disaster when it comes to road discipline. Absolutely no discipline at all! The traffic police are very very weak too. One day they will fine and they go sleeping after. No uniformity at all. Further , the traffic police increase their full fledged presence on the roads till 9pm in controlling traffic.

Bus drivers especially private ones are most noted for driving on the wrong side of the road at high speed. They expect everyone to move out of their way.
