Young woman PC dies in head-on collision at Galewela

A 24-year old female police constable was killed after the motorcycle which she was riding collided head-on with a tipper truck near the Thalakiriagama temple in Galewela on the Ambepussa - Trincomalee road.

Police said the injured woman constable died after being admitted to the Dambulla Hospital.

The deceased police constable attached to Point Pedro Police Station was on leave and on her way home when the accident occured.

The driver of the tipper truck was arrested over the accident.

Riding a motorbike from Point Pedro to Gallewala is too bad. Commonest causes of accidents are tiredness and alcoholism. Here tiredness could have been a factor in addition to tipper truck drivers carelessness. May her young soul rest in peace.
