Young woman falls into Upper Kotmale reservoir

Kotmale, Feb. 16 (Daily Mirror)- A young woman who fell into the Upper Kotmale reservoir in Thalawakele, was rescued by the police with the help of the residents of the area.
The public who noticed the young woman falling into the reservoir had taken prompt action to rescue her till the police arrived. Several of them had jumped into the water and helped her while others had lifted her with the help of ropes.
The 24 year old woman from the Agarapathana area told police that she was obsessed with difficulties for want of employment and that she had felt dizzy when walking along the bank of the reservoir.
She was admitted to the Lindula divisional hospital and transferred to the Nuwara Eliya General Hospital.
Chief Medical Officer of the Lindula hospital Dr. Asela Suranjith said she had not sustained any external injuries and that she would be referred to a phychiatrist at the Nuwara Eliya General Hospital.
