Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka said that the current political culture replicated Ali Baba and his 40 thieves, with middle level politicians following their leaders.
“Now the rogues in this country are the middle level politicians, and it very clearly seems like Ali Baba and his 40 thieves. I saw in the newspapers an article in which one politician had said that they should always take advice from the Mahanayakes of this country. But during the time that we were incarcerated, and there was suppression these very Mahanayakes had written to those responsible against it but to no avail. These top level politicians preach but don’t practice. It is like the crab leader who walks astray telling the small crabs to walk straight” he said.
Speaking to the Media outside the Supreme Court Complex in Hulftsdorp Foneska said that many people in the country face much worse problems than what he is currently subjected to. (ISA)

Geez!!!! It is like listening to a bunch of turkey; very annoying! Hope these things are kept indoors during the rainy season, otherwise they are sure to drown themselves.

SF has referred to the Alibaba and 40 thieves in Government, in fact very much more than 40. There are the UNP Aliya and baba's by their foolish internal disentions and inaction allowing Alibaba and his thieves to get away with it.

If someone thinks that making unbearable amount of loans and start construction for the sake of commision is development then that is called ill-informed knowledge. If country is developing in a healthy rate why has SL Rs fallan to 135 from 117 within the last 6 months. The planning and execution has been done according to the whims of uneducated and self interested polititians.

Those who talk of Danuna's hidden money are so ignorant and stupid that they are scared of talking about millions of undeclared foreign currency found in Sri Lankan Chairman's house which is still to be accounted for. Why this double standard?

SF has got his wires crossed. The Ali Bab story goes like this!
Ali Baba, a poor woodcutter finds a cave full of gold, hidden there by thieves. He tells his brother who goes to look but is caught in the cave by the thieves. The brother tells the leader Ali Baba has been taking the gold from the cave. The leader plans to kill Ali Baba and his brother and the 40 thieves go to Ali Baba’s house where they hide in big oil jars in Ali Baba’s garden. Ali Baba’s daughter overhears them talking in the jars and saves her family.
Ali Baba is a hero according to the story!

How do you know these cases are true in the first place? In country where the law and order is non existant, and where the brothers are able to manipulate the judiciary and even the once honest and educated are bowing down to these criminals, all for the sake of the soup they lavishly ladle, the onorous is to harrass all who are on the otherside. Remember, either you join the patriot or you are a traitor.

Country is developing in the very fast space, not witness before. Roads, Railway tracks, Railway stocks, hotels and new enterprises coming after 30-40 years of stagnation. When comparing to countries like Japan, South Korea and Vietnam - those peole waited over 50 years without this type of unpatriotic jealous guys without throwing the spoke in the wheel until their countries are developed. So please don't upset this trend because you do not have power to taste. There must be weeknesses, but give this present regime after winning the unwinnable war to put SL on the right track
