Police raided an alleged gay brothel in the Nugegoda area said to be run by a prominent businessman and arrested three males last night.
A special police team from the Mirihana police conducted the raid following information that this particular businessman was running the business under the guise of ‘Salons’. Police also arrested two women sex workers along with three managers from the same location.
Initial investigations revealed that the businessman believed to be having several such ‘salons’ in and around Nugegoda, claiming to provide services such as haircuts and other beauty needs.(H.M.Dharamapal-Dehiwala)

Gay prostitution is not the same as ordinary prostitution. Homosexuality is unnatural and even being gay is a punishable offence in many countries.Iit is homosexuals who sexually abuse young boys and destroy their lives. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam annd Steve. That businessman should be apprehended. Definitely he must be a homo-master.

The police cannot arrest gays just because they happen to be gays. They have fundamental rights too and are no different from heteros.

Prostitution has been part of our culture for millenia. What is happening now is women being abused and treated like criminals because the law doesn't protect sex workers like our ancient culture used to. Our ancient culture was pragmatic, today we're prudish. Most would not wish for their children to join the sex industry, but after a certain age, there is only a certain control that parents can have over their now adult children. I'd rather my child be a legal prostitute, protected by the law from violence and disease, rather than a trafficked and abused prostitute.

The police should go after the real criminals without wasting their resources on victimless crimes. No one is forcing anyone to go to these salons. Whereas corruption, murder, assaults, robberies, bribery etc are rampant and the police seem to ignore real crime and go after the soft stuff.

Make it legal/ no one is getting hurt and nobodys forcing the others to go to such places. the more restriction to these places will obviously increase the crime rate in the country. please legalise these places

Completely agree with you Hussain. People are being raped and murdered left, right and centre, our children are being abused and kidnapped and judges are being attacked - none of these criminals are getting caught! However, this is probably because the police is concentrating their resources in tackling brothels, people holding hands, porn websites! They are so focused on these victimless events (I refuse to call them crimes) that the real criminals are left to continue their torture and the real victims continue to suffer and die!

Jioe, you and your prehistoric ideas should be shipped to a country like Afghanistan, where you can enjoy your ideas with like minded imbeciles! There is nothing unnatural about homosexuality. In fact, to make such a statement is unnatural in the face of astounding scientific, biological and psychiatric evidence showing otherwise. To discuss your religious point of view, Adam and Eve had only 2 children, Cain and Abel - both men - how did they reproduce now?

Well just for the record, homosexuality is legalised in Nepal since 2007. Meanwhile Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code was struck down in 2009 for consensual adults in India.

All most all the people who comment here may be financial well off. But these workers are struggling to make a living in this country with ever rising cost of living and corruption.

In a related news it's reported there were transgenders, (if they are really so) they shouldn't be punished, and if they don't make it a profession. Bisexuality is an aberration. Govt. can rehabilitate them with free sex change operations! A noble and meritorious act if they make happy families!
