Aspirations of Muslims important

TNA MP Mavai Senathirajah in Parliament today stressed that any solution to the national issue should fulfill the aspirations of Muslims as well.
He indicated that his party had made a note of this during its talks with the government.
Mr. Senathirajah further noted that even the former MP. Late S. V. Chellwanayagam had accepted that Muslims also have the right for self rule. He recalled that this was accepted in the Wadakodi resolution.
The TNA MP said internally displaced Muslims in the North should also be resettled together with Tamil IDPs. “Tamils are ready to live with the Muslims in these areas,” he said.
He recalled that fulfilling the aspirations of the Muslims was considered during the recent deliberations which the TNA had with the government. (Yohan Perera and Kelum Bandara)
