SSP Baba Mahidul who was arrested in connection with allegedly recommending police clearance certificates to terrorist activists and several other offenders was released on bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today (LS)

He should not have granted bail. There are enough of prisoners who should be given bail. I respect the present Police Department a lot. But this SSP is tarnishing the good image of the Police.
