Ban wants to strengthen domestic processes in SL

UN Chief Ban Ki-moon has encouraged Sri Lanka to engage constructively with the international community and cooperate with the proposed human rights inquiry to strengthen the existing domestic processes.

UN Chie’s deputy spokesman Farhan Haq told media that the Secretary-General supports the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and commends the leadership she has demonstrated to assist Sri Lanka in advancing accountability and reconciliation.

“ The Secretary-General fully understands the challenges and complexity related to post-war processes, and therefore encourages the Government of Sri Lanka to engage constructively with the international community, to strengthen the existing domestic processes in a manner that is inclusive and respectful of human rights and to work towards lasting peace in Sri Lanka,” he said.

Mr. Ban Ki-moon, at the start itself the UNHCHR has demonstrated prejudice and bias by appointing highly questionable persons for the probe. It is like your appointing the Drausman panel. No justice will be done to Sri Lanka. So, we reject any international investigation.

Banki sadly mistaken we sri lankans do not need international intervention if you guys were so worried about sri lanka you would have never allowed tamil tigers to kill so many innocent people in SL for 30 years.We are still waiting for an investigation for the killing of innocent civilians by tamil tigers for 30 years and also seeking punishment on Tamil diaspora who funded tamil tigers to by weapons for mass destruction of sl.

Sri Lanka would have cooperated with the UN had they appointed unbiased officials. What they have done is appointed a lynching mob who have already decided SL is guilty but just need a process to make it look like justice has been served

Please note that SRI LANKA and her people do not want outside interference, not 'help' by the so called crusaders of human rights - who are actually war mongers , already disrupting world peace to elect their chosen puppets.
UN system and all related agencies are unfortunately no longer independent, their job is to do the work of their masters who are the US, UK, EU.
