Big heist at Ekala

An unidentified armed group arrived in a van robbed Rs. 7 mn belonging to a private firm at the Ekala junction, Ja-ela, a short while ago, the police said.

The robbery had taken place when the money was taken from a bank to pay salaries.

Why should they carry such a large sums of money and tempt robbers rather then credit salaries direct to the employees' bank accounts? Don't they know that we are heading towards a cashless society!!?

In many countries that is how they pay salaries. Except paying buses and taxis everything is paid into bank accounts. But because we are the Center of Excellence in Aisa we have homegrown methods for everything.
