Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal will travel to Sri Lanka on February 2–3, the US Embassy in Colombo announced.

Joined by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Atul Keshap, she will review bilateral and regional issues with the new Sri Lankan government, civil society and religious leaders, and other officials, it said.

This will be the first visit to Sri Lanka by a senior State Department official since national elections were held earlier this month

Well all these forigen players are in Sri Lanka now .Last time they were in Sri Lanka, was just before the end of the war. I hope that they will not sow the seeds for the next war .Our printed media are very one sided for their own benifites. Please keep an eye on the type of people who entered our country withen the last twenty days. Our new President is a very nice man.But a lot of croocks are around him.YAHA PALANAYA is not working. France triede the same tac tics, to tax the rich. to pay the poor, and you can see where it ended up. The rich left with their wealth ,and France is in a big mess.Dilip

Bishwal , now we are in the process of YAPALANAYA. It does not mean that we can divide this small country, or to open doors for terrorists.Remember, we are going to have next elections pretty soon, we cannot be reelected only Tamil votes. Our majority is still Sinhalese.

You are absolutely correct. The new government must understand that the US and its allies in the west will never come to us with good in tensions. Read the history and see what they did in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Syria. Since the ME war began the American economy is fast improving. Their only interest in Sri Lanka is to create another Palestine and Israel

Ms Biswal, Sri Lanka does not want anymore Indians interfering in their affairs. India encouraged the LTTE by proving arms and training facilities.The LTTE lost the war.They should learn to take their medicine. Indians,whether they are from South Africa, USA or India would always be loyal to India and only do what would benefit India. So go back to the USA.

She is not coming to Sri Lanka to review bilateral relations but rather demand that the new government follow USA demands to the letter.Catch the USA having friendly relations with any country if not to their benefit.
