If I am not wrong the last time a similar incident took place life jackets were made compulsory...when are they going to implement that......and what I don't understand is why are they encouraging boat rides on weather conditions like this ????

While keeping respect for the dead, have to ask how ignorant/dumb are they? Is this the ideal times for going over crowded boat rides in over flowing tanks at least without knowing to swim?

When boat rides are allowed in a lake or a river, Navy should do petroling.

This should be an eye opener for the people who plan trips during school holidays. Luckily holidays will be over soon.

It is really an unfortunate and a disturbing news. My heartfelt sympathies are surrendered to the bereaved families. However, it is said that most of the people on the boat were drunken. DM should reveal this fact as well. It is not just the matter of lack of safety measures, but it is due to our total failure to adhere to the religious precepts. Regretfully we are strictly concentrating on certain issues like animal slaughter, instead of taking a wider concentration on consumption of alcohol, homicide, prostitution, rape, gambling, punting and etc.

The only issue is if no action is taken and the incident brushed aside as being unfortunate. When these incidents become discussion forums for other issues, the real issue gets swept under the carpet.
