Canadian parliamentarian Rathika Sitsabaiesan, who is on a visit to Jaffna, held discussions with several Tamil National Alliance parliamentarians and Jaffna-based organizations, yesterday and today, sources said.
Jaffna-born Ms. Sitsabaiesan arrived in Sri Lanka on December 28. The Valikamam North Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman accompanied her during her visit to the Sabapahipilai Refugee Camp in Jaffna and met the internally displaced people living there. This refugee camp was also visited by British Prime Minister David Cameron when he was in Sri Lanka last month.
Ms. Sitsabaiesan is also reported to have met TNA MP S. Sridharan last evening at Kilinochchi and Jaffna Provincial Councillors including Anandi Sashikaran this morning.

Why most readers are getting jitters when someone visits Jaffna? Are they trying to help GOSL and cover up something?

Warning to SL public. While you are appointing corrupt and clueless politicians and tolerating their misdeeds, TNA and diaspora are laying the framework for a well organized campaign under the guidance of capable people.

There is nothing special about her,she got elected as an
MP in Canada in a district filled with pro LTTE low caste
diaspora and she is also from the low caste. But the white
Canadians don't understand the caste system and foolishly
imagine that she belongs to the mainstream Tamils.

This is a great opportunity for Sri Lanka to show their critics that all people can now live together in peace, as claimed by the governement and its diplomats abroad.
After all the truth is more sacred than any religion or patriotic affiliation.
On the other hand the discomfort shown by certain Sri Lankans, seem to indicate that some embarassing facts need suppression. As such these miguided patriots have made a virtue of the need to bear falsehoods.
After all 'Patriotism is the final refuge of he scoundrel.

There were white skinned 'so called' red Indians before the Europeans ' encroached' their native land, and made them second class citizens. These encroachers now want to teach us human rights. What hypocrisy ?

What is wrong in bringing out the caste politics and
tell the world how for three decades the cultured vellala
Tamils were decimated in Jaffna by the low caste LTTE
thugs. The Tamil traditional political leaders,Tamil school
Principals,Tamil Writers,Tamil university Professors,Tamil
Lawyers,Tamil Traders ,all of them from the mainstream Tamil
vellala caste killed by the LTTE. Tamils want justice for all these
killings.

Has this woman come here in her official capacity as an Canadian MP or on a private visit. If she is on an official visit she has broken all protocol by meeting these people in Jaffna without informing the GOSL. Our MP's do not go to other countries and speak to opposition members of those countries. She must the booted out, if she is here to create problems between the communities.

Another Tamil woman like biased Navi Pillai coming to boost the morale of LTTE's political arm the TNA!!! There's nothing to be surprised after her visit if TNA stops all connections with the Central Government of Sri Lanka!

These Tamil women visiting Jaffna direct should be stopped. They should be channeled through Government officials only. Wonder what these tamil women are propagating when they speak with the helpless tamils.

If they are so concerned about Tamils, why didn't they rescue innocent Tamils when they were taken as human shield? Why don't they utter a single word when TN arrest Northern TAMIL fishermen (they are not Sinhalese fishermen) to rescue them?? This is only taking revenge for not adhering WESTERN demand at the last phase of the war.

To hide the sheer shameless criminality of the sinhalese, they will say anything. Even the whole UN is supposedly diaspora funded, only in the eyes of the sinhalese. This is obvious when the actual truth can be so shamelessly damning to the sinhalese race.

Are we really a pluralistic society? Do we really live in harmony with the different religions and races? Reading some of these comments i am disgusted by the racism and bigotry of people. This type of ultra nationalistic mindset was the reason we were involved in a ethnic conflict for 30 years. We Sri lankans are still stuck in a post colonial way of thinking, blaming the west for everything wrong with us, not taking responsibilities for our failures, this is the real reason why Sri lanka is where it is now, even after more than a decade after independence.
