CBK says MR won’t be opposition leader

Former president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumarathunga yesterday reportedly told the SLFP seniors that under no circumstances would former president Mahinda Rajapaksa be made opposition leader.
She said a decision had already been taken by President Maithripala Sirisena and herself to appoint a young popular parliamentarian as Opposition Leader.
She also asked party seniors to not allow the defeated leader to destroy the party. (Anjula Mahika Weeraratne)

CBK - you do not have authority to do so. Done maximum harm to SLFP for defeat and requested to vote for animal symbol (Elephant) but MR has won 95 seats along.
