Chief Incumbent of Batti holds fast unto death for all three communities

The Chief Incumbent of the Batticaloa Mangalarama Rajamaha Viharaya Ampitiye Sumanarathne Thero has begun a fast unto death opposite the Viharaya. The Thero has cited two reasons for his fast: requesting that the land problems within the area pertaining to Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims be solved and that the President should intervene to stop acts of revenge instituted by local government officials against the poor of all communities forthwith. This is the need of the hour; all citizens to speak freely against racism. The SL government is hell bent on marginalising the minorities while trying to hoodwink the international community. Arent we self sufficient as per the first citizen of Sri lanka? I see so many skeletal figures in these pictures. Especially suffering women and children. My heart breaks to see them. It seems the monk is on a genuine effort to seek some relief for these poor people. Hope his requests be humanely considered for the good of all.
