The Chilaw Mayor Hilary Prasanna Fernando has decided to contest from the UNP ticket at the upcoming general election.

Mr. Fernando who contested the last local government election in Chilaw under the UPFA banner polled the highest majority of preferential votes and was elected Chilaw Mayor.

 He said he decided to contest from the UNP ticket considering the request made by his supporters and the present situation in the country. (Jude Samantha)
