The mother of Danuna Tillekaratne was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further questioning, following the recording of a statement by herself to the CID yesterday.
Police Spokesman SP Preshanth Jayakody confirmed to Daily Mirror online that Mrs. Asoka Tillekaratne had been taken into custody for further questioning by the CID.
Danuna Tillekaratne is the son-in-law of defeated presidential candidate General Sarath Fonseka who is currently under arrest by the military police.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate had issued an arrest warrant for Danuna Tillekaratne last week over the Hicorp transaction.
Cash worth 75 million rupees was also recovered from several safety lockers belonging to Mrs. Asoka Tillekaratne early this week. (RR)

There is no doubt any unxplained and un-accountable wealth or cash should be investigated. But this is a case of political victimization. Much publicity is given by the media into these arrests and investigations. There have been complaints against many ministers and top govt officials which have not been looked into by the authorities concerned. The Government instead of concentrating on Development is now engaged in these sort of revenge and political victimization. In the end the poor citizens of this country are going to suffer for another six years.

We have heard of such things happening in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was ruling that he used to punish whole families to take revenge from his enemies. We have also heard of how Saddam Hussein, who boasted of having received 99.99% of the votes in sham elections, ended up in the gallows. History repeats itself : first as a comedy and then as a tragedy. We are not amused!

Everyone needs to support MR for 'progress'. May it be monks, priests, swamis or chinpanzees, they all need to shut up and not criticise the govt. All those who don't are traitors and can be arrested, questioned and will meet a tragic accident.. Thank you for your support! Long live SRI LANKA DEMOCRACY!!

Poor lady what can she do for this? who fight for her? Anoma fonseka ? Danuna will hide and run away, poor mom is in custody, if danuna at least loves his mom he should comeforward and share the jail with his mom, to see what his mom is under going due to his act.
