The Crime Investigation Division (CID) is recording a statement from the General Secretary of Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera over the incidents that occurred in Aluthgama, police said.
Police said statements would be recorded from the other speakers who addressed the meeting in Aluthgama on June 15.
The CID also recorded a statement from the Sihala Ravaya president Akmeemana Dayarathana Thero on June 30 over the Aluthgama incident.
Meanwhile, about 117 people were arrested in connection with the Aluthgama incident while 88 of them were produced in the courts and 25 were released on bail. Another 4 people were detained in police custody to be produced in the courts. {jcomments off}
