CID to probe LTTE propaganda

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has been given the task to probe the detained container with LTTE propaganda materials at the Colombo Port by customs officers on Tuesday morning.

Altogether in the consignment there were magazines, leaflets, notes and CD’s contained in 48 parcels.

According to customs the propaganda materials were printed in Chennai due to the low cost as the printing charges in Canada is very much higher.

These propaganda materials were prepared to undermine the achievements made by Security Forces to end the conflict two years ago.

The propaganda materials were to be shipped to Toronto. However a senior customs officer said that still the container is under their custody. He said that they have prepared a file about the consignment.
