Cop lends uniform to robber

A police constable of the Angulana Police who had aided and abetted a robbery by allegedly allowing the robber to wear his uniform was taken into custody last evening.

It is alleged that a man of Angulana had in the constable’s uniform ransacked a shop in the area. The PC and the young man concerned were taken into custody during inquiries into a complaint received by the Mount Lavinia SP. A senior police official said the two suspects would be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate after the on going inquiries. (Ananda Weerasuriya)
