Court prevent holding polls in 3 PCs

An interim order was issued by the Court of Appeal today preventing the holding of the Local Government Elections in Akuressa, Akmeemana and Moneragala Pradehsiya Sabhas.

The order was given after the UPFA filed a petition against the rejection its nominations papers of Akuressa and Moneragala Pradehsiya Sabhas, while an independence group filed a petition against the rejection its nominations paper of Akmeemana PC.(SSS)
