Corruption and Cost Covering for other purposes are main reoson for price hike. In 1994 this is a Profitable corporation. All the Petrolium ministers / Deputies / Presidents and appointed incapable officers should get responsible. For the Hedging Agreament every person had to pay Rs. 4500/=. ( 9000mn / 2mn ) who is responsible for this.? mokada mun gewal walin salli danawada. i think Business and Progfesional comunity should get to gether to make an mechanism to monitor these Corruptions. via DM Android App

Well, My dear brothers and sisters, please forgive me for saying this. I can't hide the fact. ' Our politicians are so lucky and blessed to do politics in a country like Sri Lanka. In a few days time they will declare open Mattala airport and my fellow country men will be so happy to watch it and will forget all other issues'.
There is a saying ' A country deserves its government it has' meaning if people elect a donkey government, people are also donkeys....... (who will agree with me)

We are getting closer to "Wonder of Asia". Price of crude oil has gone down in World Market and in the mean time exchange rate too has gone down (1US$=125/- approx). What we cant understand is, why this regime increasing FUEL prices. There is a impact for every thing due to this fuel increase. Nothing else, wastages of "RAJA PAWULA" and its "FAMILY TREE". When ever they go a foreign trip they take Plane load and we have to pay them.

Rupee depreciated due to credit taken by the government to offset the printed money to cover fuel bills as the adjustment was not done last year just like today. Fuel prices must be adjusted according to world prices and can not hold up which put the pressure on banks. Ultimately central bank printed money to pay the bills for citizen who did not pay the equal price to reflect the world market which sent the Rupee tumbling down to 135 which is now settled around 127.

In Australia fuel prices change daily. Last Wednesday I paid $1.27 per/lit. Today I saw the price at $1.51. By midweek it should be around $1.30 hopefully. Furthermore, different companies have their own pricing. Shell, BP and Caltex compete for sales and the price is not government regulated. Generally weekends have higher rates.

CPC is ONE of the govt entities that runs on a PROFIT. Make all other entities profitable and viable. Why does the CPC have to make Billions of rupees as PROFIT by sucking the blood of the citizens to show a HEFTY profit? IF they cannot offer at a decent price, let PRIVATE sector get into the business of importing and give at a cheaper price... PRIVATIZE if its benefitial to the CITIZEN ...

From the beginning the CPC has been subject to state abuse by various governments. The debt is because the Gov't uses fuel as tax payers expense without paying a cent. The only way to fix this is to sell CPC and deregulate fuel imports. We should allow large companies like Shell, BP, Caltex and Chevron to import fuel and get them to compete for market share. The government will have to pay for their own fuel including the fuel for the president's car. This will stem the abuse of Ministers and government servants sending their kids to school and wives for flower shows using CPC fuel.
Please remember that the Diesel subsidy in SL is a hoax. Diesel is being sold at international rates. If not, how come we pay the same price for Diesel in Australia as in SL? Its just that petrol is taxed more in SL and the government tell you that Diesel is subsidised. And our dumb masses believe all that!!
