Nothing unusual in this country. The seniors obviously follow their political masters and do whatever they want for personal benefit and the juniors are expected to shut up and put up just like the public are doing when politicians cross their limits. This is the only way one can aspire to become the Miracle of Asia!

Beast-act By DIG Wednesday, 10 October 2012 05:34 AM
This is very beast behavior or DIP. Overpower and showing his highness. Like our Mervin and Malaka, Duminda. If Police DIG also do this, whats the use..more over among the people. I think DIG is not a polite enough, If DIG really want to slap SSP, he would have called him personally and should have done whatever he wants. This is a real beast behavior by DIG. So finally SRi Lanka DIG police also shown a good exmaple of conduct to public. Jayawaywa..Suba chintanaya selection of DIP by MR, Well done

Nothing strange!!! In this part of the world ''Hierarchy'' mean you are entitle and free to do anything you think appropriate. There is neither governing body nor does a watchdog independently monitor the action of the people in power from security guards to the President. Misconducts of those in power appear in tabloids, media, inquiry, name and shame, resignation or sacking will follow in an open, transparent society. Nothing known or heard in Sri Lanka but we still call that we are living in full democracy.
A senior DIG was assaulted in front of the TV crews over the phone by his superior recently seen by the millions and no action was taken so far. Of course, you CAN’T take any action either!!!
Worse are the cases of assault and abuse of the female officers.
If you need a change, teach your children at least.......

The time is nigh when the people will be forced to take the law into their own hands. It is obvious now that from top down, the people in charge of taking care of citizens of this country are corrupt and beyond redemption. If a cop was assaulted like this by a fellow cop in any other country, it would have been an internal affairs nightmare, with the assaulting cop dismissed with cause.

Regardless of who was in-charge at the time, when superior officer should be respected if there is no respect for superior officer, there is no law in the Cadre, DIG had done nothing wrong, he just brought some friends for the match for fun may be his family, that's his privilege because he has been working years and years for Police department and serving the country and becoming a DIG, he should have some sort of Authority. And there is no involvement of illegal activity. Slap is a good lesson for the SSP,
