The extension of the emergency law in Egypt is necessary to prevent crimes related to terrorism, the Egyptian prime minister said. - Same record replayed at the extension of emergency in Egypt , the country which has been under emergency law for thirty years now.

Government should have some solid reasons to extend emergency. Prime-minister will give an account of the activities taken place in the previous month to justify extending emergency. Without reasons this will not be passed in the parliament?

To handle the Drug dealers all what we need is a good Police force, again on second thought When there is political patronage for the Drugs even the best police force is of no use.

Are there only 11 in the opposition now? I remember last time JVP accused UNP MP's for not attending to vote against the emergency, but this time they are also absent. What these MPs should understand is that shouting outside of the parliament is not the practical democratic way of handling things. Please learn to be professional democrats, rather than playing only for gallery.

Why do we need Emergency laws when terrorism has been completely wiped out. Is it to wipe out any other opposition

This is so wrong, to keep extending the emergency when everybody knows that our country is free of terrorism. Do we really have to put up with this?

Big Question,
Is the combination of UNP, DNA, and TNA only makes upto 11??? Where is the opposition in this country?

We the people voted this govt. in with almost 2/3rds majority because of the weak opposition. In such situation, the Govt. can become authoritarian. Hence the people should First build up a proper opposition which also seems impossible. We are asking Ranil to go but nobody is willing to replace Ranil.

I do not understand why we have a vote in parliament. unlike other democratic parliament else where in the world gov. ministers are not allowed to vote against ( next day they will become traitor ). As a nation our biggest problem is we are not honest ! but just biased.

Why do we need it now? War is over long a go. Goverment it using the emergency to suppress the people.
