If the emergency is lifted, all political prisoners should be released and none can be arrested under this exploited emergency law. So the political revenge continues......

No more war and we didn't hear of any terror acts for over an year and still we are under Emergency. This is absurd, and it looks it will go on and on for the next twenty years!

Well,,, I'm sure most of you voted for the man who is trying to make SL a kingdom!!!! No offense but... didn't you??? The second time too??? Dont get carried away but I am not a supporter of either party... In my eyes no one is in politics right now who can rule our beautiful country.

There were times the UNP , with the connivance of TNA and others extended emergency for no valid reasons. The MR regime has no difficulty in extending emergency, because it is easy to manipulate things behind such a smokescreen.
A person called "D.E.M. O' Cracy" who lived in Ceylon one time, is dead since 1977.
He cannot come back to life again with or without two third majority in the Parliament.
Therefore, we must try to live happily ever after, while evil is active behind such a smokescreen.
When you sow vengeance what do you expect to reap?

With the two-thirds majority, they can institutionalise emergency rule and eliminate all opposition, and declare the country a Kingdom ruled by one family.

Hotels are flooded with tourists --We need another 5000 rooms to meet the demand, certainly Rohith's comment is a paradox

Yeah, extend it because now the citizens hate the politicos.

Instead of doing it on monthly basis, govt should consider passing an Amendment to the Constitution to institutionalize emergency. This way all opposition can be eradicated.

Ours is a country under emergency. But we promote tourism and expect people to visit us. What a paradox.

Sounds like they have not understood that they give the world wrong signals. Is the war really over? Are the terrorists gone? Are there any dangers in visiting Sri Lanka? The first thing tourists don't want to see is soldiers in every corner and all the check points. They want to be able to move freely and take their photo shots without any worries.
