Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka has reportedly been admitted to the Prison Hospital at the Welikada prison due to a sudden illness on Tuesday night, sources said.
A highly placed Prison Official confirmed that Fonseka was admitted soon after his return to the Prison after attending the ‘White flag case’ at Supreme Courts yesterday. (JS)

looking at Sri Lankan history it is only normal for a politician turn inmate to spend the rest of his sentence in prison hospital. Nevertheless, since this man being there at all, is arguable, i wish him a speedy recovery.

I think SF should have never taken to politics particularly against MR. SF became Army Commander only because of MR. He was ungrateful. But I think the whole country including MR will be grateful to him for all what he did as the Army Commander to finish the war. Now time for healing and reconciliation process to take place. All clergy leaders should convince MR to release SF now and also for SF to keep his tongue under control.

Now Due Gunasekara is telling you need permission to enter the prison after they have successfully carried out their operation.

He tendered a yeoman service to nation and no body could argive against that. But the way he led the election campaign led to his downfall. Highly personal allegations leveled against HE and family (probably without any proof) and some sarcastic comments about them and threats during the campaign to put HE and family to jail would have led to the pathetic situation he faces today. I believe it's the JVP's influence led to this situation
