Four policemen arrested for soliciting bribe

Four police personnel including a sub inspector and three constables attached to the Kalutara police station were arrested for allegedly soliciting a bribe from a bootlegger, police said.

Acting police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said they were arrested following an investigation into a complaint regarding an incident where they had alleged to have solicited a bribe to prevent a case being filed against a bootlegger.

I made a call to police clearance branch yesterday to find out the status of a police clearance application and officer answered the call said to pay him 10000/- by meeting him outside police HQ to send the certificate.
