New Zeeland Green Party MP and Australian Senator who were detained earlier in the morning by the Department of Immigration in connection with violation of Immigration laws had been allowed to leave the country a short while ago.
Accordingly New Zeeland Green Party MP Jan Logie and Australian Senator Lee Rhiannon are currently heading towards their respective countries, chief of the Intelligence Unit Department of Immigration and Emigration Amith Perera told DM Online. (YP)
Looks like the government is really shy of foreigners. Guilt is the name of the word.

Immigration authorities have added fuel to the fire by doing what they did. This Senators statement is headlines in Australia now. She is a well known one sided sympathiser of the LTTE and their supporters and many here in Australia have been trying hard to counter her misinformation campaign here. Now she has been given a reason on a silver platter to say SL is against freedom and democracy and people are living in fear. What SL immigration has done is crass stupidity.

This is atrocious! What did the Australian Senator do to get this treatment? We will have reciprocal treatment from the Australian Government, for sure.

Off-course! If any Sri Lankan violates Australian Immigration laws they will have to face the consequences. I expect nothing less from other countries.
