Heavy rain continues

Department of Meteorology said today due to the convergence of wind flows, heavy showers or thunder showers that will result in more than 100 mm of rain will occur in the Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Ratnapura districts.

Met department also requested from the public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning.

Don't the authority get the advise of our MET department before repairing roads along Galle Road?? Expect traffic congestion and delays to report for duty. Roads are under repair for the last six months or more, still not finish.

As soon as the MET dept announced this, the rains ceased....as is the case with them always. Whenever they say heavy rain is due, I walk out boldly knowing there will not be a drop of rain that day.....Vice versa also applies.....after all these government servants have to say and do something to earn a wage and pension for 9am to 4pm work with stoppages for tea / lunch / tea and plenty of cigars in between....

Such a typical weather forecast by our Met dept. Once it starts pouring they predict rain the next day.. and as always their prediction is wrong!! Its quite clear in Colombo today! what a bunch of jokers
