IBUF protest: Emergency surgery on injured SI

The Sub Inspector who was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital after being injured during yesterday’s protest rally outside the University Grants Commission (UGC) has undergone emergency surgery this morning, police said.

He was seriously injured when a stone hurled by protester had hit him on the head.

Police fired tear gas and used water cannons to disperse the Inter-University Bhikku Federation (IUBF) students.

So these so called Buddhist monks are the people who will protect the Buddhism in our country in the future.The parents who gave them to the temples to become monks must be sent to mental hospital.I wonder what action the mahanayake at Malwatte chapter and the Anunayaka at Asgiriya chapter has to say about yesterday;s incident.

I saw how they behaved. They were a bunch of rowdies and not Buddhist priests. Gettin five of them admitted to hospital does not prove otherwise.Send them to jail with hard labour !
