ICRC country head meets Army Chief



Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Sri Lanka Ms Cherine Pollini held talks with Army Commander Daya Ratnayake at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday evening.

According to the Army Headquarters, the Army Chief acknowledged the services that have been so far rendered by the ICRC with gratitude and expressed the ‘Army’s willingness to maintain existing good relations with the ICRC in the future, too.’

The meeting was attended by Major General S. Ranasinghe, Military Secretary and Brigadier R. Nugera, Director Training. Ms Pollini who has been the Head of the ICRC in Sri Lanka since April 2013 was accompanied to the Commander’s office by a senior ICRC official.
