'Pol Haraka' has said it all very simply. Let SLC have some pride and our players too, without making ourselves cheap.

When you have dead skeletons in your cupboard, you have to worry that no one sees them. If you have nothing to hide, no need to worry about anybody, not even god.

Simple question! We don't send. They go because of Money.

Exactly. Sri Lanka should not allow Sri Lankan cricketers to play in IPL. However, I don't think Sri Lankan players will be badly missed by the world.

Shame on SLC for worshiping BCCI and allowing every BCCI request prior to this. Nishantha Rantunga at SLC went to disgaceful lenthgs at the whims of BCCI. Now they have returned you the favour nicely.

Try Two20 format in which two batsmen batting all 20 overs while the full opposite team fields. India may not like SLPL since it seems having the same format as IPL.

Well done India , SLPL won't bring any benifits to locall players , instead organisers will pocket millons.

SLPL should allow 6 foreran players … then our one will be more competitive … not like Indian boring IPL still we can have per match 5 SL players.

Because SriLanka has become a Pariah in the eyes of India.
Yes this is a shame for Lanka & Lankans.

I do not understand why our politicians send our cricketers to IPL????
Anyway our cricketers also do not bother about the dignity of this country... what they want is money & women.

Manik Friday, 15 June 2012 04:14 AM
This might be a ploy by Indians to block SL players getting experience and money in the IPL. We can always play w/o injuns.

ind Friday, 15 June 2012 04:06 AM
If they can stop sending them, we too should do the same. As players they too think about it. Money is not the everything !!

BCCI must be wanting SLC to make sure India wins the T20 WC in Sri Lanka later this year. BCCI goons dont take decisions without an ulterior motive.

Kadmin Friday, 15 June 2012 04:18 AM
This is a Deja-vu. It's a good decision to go ahead without Indians. Whole country should support that and stand behind our SLC.

he he outstanding......."Lejja nethikama mahamudali-kamatath wada lokui".......please send more and more upcoming players to IPL even for the next season.....i have gone out of words......ohhh poor SLC......i have no idea where you guys are going with this !!!

Nature Friday, 15 June 2012 04:22 AM
Sending our players to IPL can't be stopped. bcz, we'll earn a lot of foreign exchange to SL & our players become more exporsure with world class players which is good for our team. BCCI decision is separate & SLC wouldn't beg them again I hope....

Podda Friday, 15 June 2012 04:27 AM
IF SLC stop sending our players to IPL, Malinga definitely say ta-taa to sri lankan national team.
15 107
Sammy Friday, 15 June 2012 04:32 AM
Now the SLC should reciprocate and show their discontent at the Indian attitude, by refusing to permit Sri Lankan cricketers take part in the IPL. Alas, money talks!

Nishantha Friday, 15 June 2012 02:41 AM
Why we are sending our players to IPL?
23 202
anjeewa Friday, 15 June 2012 04:47 AM
If we sanction them players will scrapped the contracts like Malinga trying to do and play IPL. Who is going to pay you 1.8MN US$ (Rs.200Mn) for 6 weeks cricket!!!
But I like BCCI reject SLPL. SLPL is waste of money like Carlton Rugby...
6 72
raj Friday, 15 June 2012 04:52 AM
We are sending our players, so they can earn US$, which will help foreign reserve. By banning players from playing in the IPL, we will be the losers. But by playing the IPL will giving money to us, then they will be the losers.

M.V.R.Perera Friday, 15 June 2012 04:53 AM
we should ban our players playing in IPL but the money is so attractive they will give up international cricket but we should do it to prevent the younger cricketers from playing in the IPL

Fusion Friday, 15 June 2012 05:06 AM
Because if they don't the players might quit SLC outright and stick to the IPL. SLC cannot compete with the financial firepower of the IPL.

Nodrog Friday, 15 June 2012 05:17 AM
Reason is we need India more than they need us so no matter what they do or say to us we still run behind them for their money, their approval, their advise....

Prsa Friday, 15 June 2012 05:13 AM
Answer simple. India is alwasys putting SL down, sports, political, economical... in all areas with a plan. So When we can get money from India, we have to send players. Remember it is not small amount of foreign currency !!
Not sending players to IPL only results in SL not getting money. IPL will have no impact !! there are enough players to come. So be deplomatic. Dont trust India.

Abdul Friday, 15 June 2012 05:26 AM
Answer to Nishantha & Rukshan- since the money is big in IPL, if we try to stop players they will stop playing for country & play there. e.g. Malinga, ONLY SOLUTION: When SL players register for a club here, they should sign a 20 Year agreement that they will only play SLC approved matches.

Pol Haraka Friday, 15 June 2012 05:33 AM
we send our players because our players make enough money in 45 days that otherwise they can't make in a life time..
where as if indian players come here they will just make a few bucks by their standards hence its not worth the hasstle tussle..
simple as A B C
