The full statement:
Further to the earlier media release on the above subject, Team Manager Jayantha Seneviratne submitted a report to the CEO on the above incident.
According to the report, the Team has boarded the flight BA 2158 from Greneda around 5 pm on the 30th of June 2013 to London. The incident took place around midnight during the flight.
The player concerned namely Ramith Rambukwella had tried to use the toilet. Due to the dim lights in the cabin the player has mistakenly tried to open one of the cabin doors thinking it was the toilet door.
At that moment certain passengers had brought to his notice that he is trying to access the incorrect door.
At this point the officials of the Sri Lankan team too walked up to the player and directed him the right way.
The player apologized profusely to the passengers and to the cabin staff who accepted it in good faith.
An inquiry will be conducted based on the Managers Report and disciplinary action will be taken on the player concerned if found fault.

Please, why should we be making very unkind remarks about this incident. It is clearly an innocent omission or mistake on the part of a young boy. Certainly, it cannot be an intentional act, though influence of liquor may have played a role, among other factors in the sifcumstances. And, having a drink during a long air journey is not unusual for a young boy (or even for an old man like me).

Read this please his father's incident
The Minister Keheliya Rambukwella had stepped out to the balcony to smoke a cigarette and the connecting door to the room had accidentally got locked. After several attempts to open the door had failed, the Minister had slipped and fallen when he had tried to climb to the adjoining room.
The Minister had also been under the influence of liquor at the time.
He had fallen on to a shrub and had broken both his legs. He had also knocked his head in the fall and apart from the broken legs, he had also sustained severe injuries to his head.
poor son didn't get to open the cabin door,

You can sue the BA for mixing doors.
Do not worry even though you do not play cricket, You have a better future in politics. In fact you are over qualified.

It was an innocent mistake. Just because he is a minister's son media is making a huge hoo-ha about it. Give it a break. Taking disciplinary action for mistakenly trying to open the different door is nonsense.

It is best if SLC can conduct a full inquiry on this matter. From the name, it appears that the Cricketer is the son of the famous Minister who had a fall from the hotel balcony in Australia. Thus this Cricketer comes from a very elite family of Srilanka who has travelled in an aircraft many times. Therefore it is highly unlikely for him to mistake the aircraft door to be the Toilet door unless he was fully intoxicated. It is very disappointing the SL Cricketers wasting the people’s money act so irresponsibly and being drunk wearing SL cricket T shirt.

What a cover up story of this fellow(Minister's Son) who has a very poor past record, even when he was in school.
Was he out of his senses or had consumed too much alcohol.
There is just No Way , one can confuse such a Large Cabin Handle as opposed to the usual small toilet latch...No way ..Tell this story to the birds..He must be disciplined, for the good of cricket in Sri lank.
