Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) said today that legal action must be taken against Minister Rishard Bathiutheen for the incident where the Muslim people had been resettled in the Wilpatthu National Park.
Western Provincial Council Minister Udaya Gammanpila said JHU was of the view that Muslim people should be resettled in the North legally.
“Muslim people should be settled in the North. But it should not be done by clearing national parks, sanctuaries or forest reserves. Legal action must be taken against those who were engaged in this catastrophe irrespective of their positions or party or religious differences. The law should be equal to everyone. There should not be a separate law for a minister and ordinary people,” Mr. Gammanpila said.
A special commission should be appointed to investigate into the individuals who foster Tamil separatism and action should be taken against them, Mr. Gammanpila said.
“Sri Lanka is the only country that did not ban the political organisation of the LTTE after defeating terrorism. Political organisations of the terrorist organisations have been banned after defeating it all over the world. The TNA which is the political organisation of the LTTE should be banned,” Mr. Gammanpila said.(Ajith Siriwardana)
