The Famous Poem on Bribery is coming to mind:I got it: They arrested me. and I gave it: They released me.

vicious act by people, who want short cuts from public officers for the acts they did wrong. At the same time public officers also knows to the hazel they have to undergo if the law is taken in depth. So the solution is to please the officer, hence both parties are comfortable. So instead of Bribery commission is called and punished the officer to his ground zero , state must come -up with some better solution for these acts

This is nothing unusual, Nearly all Traffic Policemen could be bribed. I guarantee that so will many others. What we need is a complete overhaul of the S/L Police system. Corruption is rife at all levels. Its a national disgrace.

There are honest Police Officers in Sri Lanka. In fact there are officers in Police Service that never accepted any sort of bribe / present / gift / etc; other than their salary.
