Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan today said Minister Vinyagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Karuna should apologize for the massacre of 600 policemen that took place in 1990 in the east.
Pillayan made this comment when answering a question posed by the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC). The LLRC asked Pillayan if he saw the need to apologize to the families of the policemen since his group was involved in the attack.
“I joined the LTTE when I was 16 years of age. If there is a person who should apologize it is Karuna since he was the leader of our group at that time,” he said.

Apologising for the massacre of the policemen is immaterial, the culrpits need to be identified and given punishment according to the crime. The same goes for the massacre of innocent tamils in 1983 and during the last stages of the war, who also need to be publicly identified and punished for crimes against humanity irrelevant to their affiliations and positions in Government.

So, it is a confirmation of the massacre of 600 Policemen by a member of the Government. The culprit is in the Government itself. If so, is he then suitable to hold a ministerial portfolio?

Please...please....please do not compare Karuna or KP with SF..... formers did not serve in our army like latter one ..... army has and should have certain discipline codes....as an army officer SF has violated these rules and deserved for punishment....Karuna will not fall in this category as he was serving in LTTE army which had no any codes to be punished....since he accepted the one country & one government policy people pardoned him.....as he was misguided by the LTTE leadership he should have apolgize from the parents of late policemen ....but we should not forget that he was also one of the prime architects who paid valuable contribution to eradicate LTTE from this land

It might be true that Karuna had involved in killing of 600 policemen under the direction of Prabakaran - the biggest enemy of SL Govt. However, subsequently Karuna became the biggest enemy of Praba.
So that biggest enemy's biggest enemy = Friend
Therefore no issue !!!

Apologise for the cold blooded murder of 600 policemen??? You must be having mad cow disease. Karuna should be hung from his b***s and left to die a slow death. How ever he is a minister undrer chintanaya and nothing will happen to him. Perhaps take him near a mango tree so that the tree could at least tie him to it for a short while and ask the SLFP to have an inquiry!!!

So Karuna, The "Viper" is a Hero to the Sri Lankan, while SF is a Traitor, wonderful Logic, I Think Sri Lankans have a got a major problem, on who won the War, 2 Petty minded Leaders, fighting like little kids over such a stupid Issue, It was a United and Combined effort the won the 30 year Politically manipulated war,. The only one who is benifiting frrom this is the Remaining Group of Tigers Lead by the Viper, by Now they know everything about the Political and Military structure of Sri Lanka, It is only a matter of Time.
