Media Minister Keheliya Rambukkwella, who returned to the country this morning from Melbourne, Australia, is going to sue the hotel he stayed at in Melbourne for the injuries that occurred due to a mishap at the hotel four months ago.
Addressing a press conference in Colombo the Minister said “I am going to take legal action against Hotel Como in Melbourne, where I was injured while staying at the hotel, as the hotel should be held responsible for the accident.”
According to media reports Minister Rambukwella was injured in February this year after he fell from a balcony while trying to alert the hotel staff that he got locked out while on the balcony. The mishap occurred while he was on a private visit to Australia and he was admitted to a hospital in Melbourne where he had to undergo several surgeries. (SAJ)

I think there is a juicier tale than locking himself out on the balcony. Lets wait and see. This is the first time I have heard of anyone getting locked out on a balcony. Hmmm???

Now that this story is published in the media, Australia should follow up and investigate the true reason for his fall.
He is stupid to have come out with a claim as this will lead to his being proved a REAL LIAR.

We have to look after our intelligent, selfless politicians.
So lest rally behind Keheliya, and make the hotel pay for locking the balcony door.

Ram Perera Friday, 25 May 2012 12:21 PM
I heard that he was drunk and came to the balcony for a smoke. The door closed and he had attempted to get in from the adjoining apartment. When attempting to cross the balconies he fell. He is trying to save his pride by saying that he is going to sue the hotel. DM please remember to ask him after 1 year for the progress of the case.

The issue might settle before it goes to court just as 90% of the matter that are litigated. So unless u r the lawyers the truth will never be public. From the rumors I have heard the guy was drunk to the max.
All these politicians in SriLanka are not clean.
They take their bribes and mix with the scum. Unlike Australia there are no integrity checks on them and they rule the roost. They are thick skinned rogues of the highest category bullying the ignorant people of Sri Lanka .

The Australians should have sent him back to Sri Lanka
immediately .
For the type of injury he suffered our veda mahattayas are the best. If the fellow is so patriotic he should have taken the first flight out.
Patients in worse conditions have flown so he cannot say he was not fit to travel. This fellow is a joke . I hope they reject his visa the next time.
It is because of these type of "Moda Yakkas" that others have difficulty in getting their visas.
