Live Parliament coverage on PEO TV suspended

The special live telecast that was launched on Channel 91 exclusively on SLT PEO TV in December last year enabling the public to watch the proceedings of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, has been suspended, sources said.

When inquired from the SLT Call Centre, an employer told Daily Mirror online that Parliament authorities had not given permission to proceed with the live proceeding this year yet.

However,earlier several ministers demanded the Speaker to stop giving live TV coverage.

Oh yes, we have to protect our future generation from this menace, because the broadcaster cannot put "kotu" every five second and hide adults only scenes and not suitable also for general public. Good decision. We uphold it.
