Make a clear statement on CPC

The main opposition UNP today called on the Minister Petroleum Resources to make a clear public statement whether there is a move to convert the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) into a company.

UNP MP Gayantha Karunatilleke told a news conference today that the Minister should make a clear statement on it, as plans are afoot for such a move. (YP)

it"s good thing if done and a bad one for the employees. Mahinda is the king of privatisation. SLIC thing is only a gimmic. All the money is paid back to the harry. But the SLIC assets are still in his hold. VAAASUUUU where ARE you now ....... Speak to the public..

If its going to be a public quoted company,its a good move. Keeping with the govt,what they are doing? Nothing. Only a heavy weight to the budget. Do it, without selling to foreigh buyer.

Minister of Petroleum Industry, Susil Premajayantha refuted UNP claims that the government was attempting to sell the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) stating that the UNP government was responsible for selling one third of the company to the Indian Oil Company.
