Matara-Jaffna train derails in Medawachchiya
The express train from Matara to Jaffna has derailed in Medawachchiya on the Northern railway line a short while ago, the Railway Control Room said.
No injuries had been reported.
The Control Room said four cars of the train had derailed and trains arriving from the north would be stopped at Vavuniya, while trains leaving to Medawachchiya would be stopped at Anuradhapura station until line is cleared.
