Mother and child die
A mother and her eight-year old child drowned last night while they were trying to cross the Goradiyawaka Oya, Badulla, despite heavy rain, police said.
The bodies were found near the Dunuwangiya Bridge. (Pix by Palitha Ariyawansa)
