While condemning the alleged assault on the Secretary of the Judicial Services Commission, the Government said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered the Police Chief to take action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Since JSC secretary recently criticized the Executive, doing something like this surely discredit President - President being very smart, he wouldn't be doing anything like this. Simple if you have observes him for so many years.

Yet another episode just like Lasantha's murder. This is a very funny country where the Police Chief does not take any action unless ordered by the President himself. Maybe the Police Chief is not sure who did it and waits for a green light because he knows there is always a powerful politician behind these hanky-panky incidents and he does not want to cross the path of that politician. As one reader quite rightly said, this country has already become a Banana Republic.

Obviously the guilty conscience must be pricking the mind
otherwise why should a president of a country(Banana Republic) order his police chief to take action when a crime is committed! This country is good for the modays now!!

Why take president for this. Isn't he giving right orders. It is the fault of the police, navy army and civil security. Even though they don't follow orders our president is still showing patience. What a tolerant leader. People stop slinging mud!!!!!

Many a times the press has reported that our good President has ordered the Police Chief to take action to bring perpetrators of crime to justice, but regrettably beyond that nothing has happened. This too would be the same.
It is our misfortune to live in this country.

This is the result of no proper Law and Order enforcement in SL.
Sri Lankan do whatever it pleases them. For the past so many months how many crimes were committed and nothing happened to the crooks. Now it has become a epidemic in SL and out of control.

Same scenario when Lasantha was assassinated. A sad president ordered an inquiry. These things take time depending on the weather. Who knows this case may be cracked and prosecuted in 10 years time, with a little bit of luck

If the public is to believe H.E. the President's order to the IGP is a genuine one, he should also order those who are carrying on a vicious propaganda against the JSC in the state media to desist from doing so.

Hearing this news, every one would think that this is a job of the government. But,MRs 40 over years of political carrier indicates us that he is not a thug and very patient person. This job should be a work of some one who wants to discredit the president and the government. Given the fact that the government has few troubles with the secretary, some one utilize the opportunity.
