MR to attend SAARC Summit in Nepal
President Mahinda Rajapaksa will leave for Nepal on November 25 to take part in the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC)Summit, to be held in Kathmandu, foreign media reported.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen are arriving in Kathmandu on November 25, reports said quoting Nepali government official.
Nepal had made a formal request to the visiting VVIPs to make to Kathmandu a day before the inauguration of the two-day Summit. The heads of state or the government will reside in Hotel Soaltee, where the government has made necessary arrangement of the suite rooms.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala is scheduled host a dinner reception on the next day of their arrival. Likewise, President Ram Baran Yadav will a host dinner reception for the dignitaries on November 27, the final day of the Summit.
While Prime Minister will host the dinner at some hotel in Kathmandu, President Yadav is scheduled organize it at his own official residence in Shital Niwas. The visiting heads of state or the government are scheduled to fly back home on November 28.
