The government has agreed to provide adequate security to former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, who was released on a special pardon on Monday, a parliamentarian said.
“The government has agreed to provide Ministerial Security Division protection for Mr. Fonseka,” MP Arjuna Ranatunge told Daily Mirror online.
He said the government had agreed to a request from the family members and MP Tiran Alles because of the threat on Mr. Fonseka’s life. (Indika Sri Aravinda)
