Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has decided to step down as president of Egypt, Vice-President Omar Suleiman made the announcement in a brief statement on state TV, BBC reported a short while ago.
It came as thousands massed in Cairo and other Egyptian cities for an 18th day of protest to demand Mr Mubarak's resignation.

Mubarak is stepping down with 54 Billion $ in the pocket (presumably, world richest man) & 50% of the people of Egypt living less than 2$ a day. Nice retirement allowance for the poor old man.

mankind should be proud of egyptian army, when they said that they will not fire at their own people. Sl Govt should take a lesson from this, I dont mean the current govt, but for all. The army was independant to take thier own decision. they were not the henchmen of dictators. at last another war hero of 1960s became a traitor... and was ashamed, cos he misused his powere....
