Navy arrests 26 Indian fishermen
The Sri Lanka Navy arrested 26 Indian fishermen for allegedly poaching in Sri Lankan waters in Northern Point Pedro last night.
Navy Spokesman Commander Indika Silva said along with the fishermen, three fishing vessels had also been confiscated.
“The fishermen and their trawlers were brought to Kankasathurai harbour this morning and they were handed over to the fisheries officials in Jaffna for legal action” he said.(DS)
